So, you know how to design logos that can be a hit in the real world. You have confidence in your work and you know you can deliver good logos. Designing is not a problem for most of the designers, the problem is to find clients to work for. Getting clients is a very different ball game, it is a different skill altogether.
A designer might be very good but if he doesn’t know how to take his skill and put it to use for the real clients then what’s the use. He needs to learn how to do it.
And today, I am going to show you here how you can get to those clients and work for them. It will work in three steps;
1. Make a Portfolio
2. Get Clients
3. Know how to Close
Let’s talk about each of the above, one by one. We will dive into details of each and every point above.
1. Make a Portfolio-
You need to choose the best of your work and showcase it in your portfolio for the clients to see. There are a lot of online platforms that you can use to upload your work and showcase it. You need to make sure to show your logos in real life, with the use of related mockups. And also keep in mind that your overall portfolio seems compelling enough for the client that you want to attract.
While making portfolio do not add too much of your work. Keep it less but full of quality. What I have seen is as a designer sometimes we think so many of our works are great, we feel like adding a lot of our work to our portfolio but trust me adding few works is better.
2. Get Clients-
Now there are a lot of ways by which you can get your clients. You need to be visible in front of the client and this you can do by registering on some freelance online portals, meeting people who might give you work, you can also build your online presence on your website.

3. Know how to close-
Closing is a skill, you might find a few clients but if you do not know how to close, it might be frustrating for you to see when clients leave after a couple of back and forth responses.
To close the client successfully you must come off genuine, you need to make sure that you are coming with a mindset of helping the client and solving his problem with your visual solutions.
Your client has texted you that he liked your work and how much do you cost. Don’t just tell him your price and got all excited about working with him. Hold your horses Mate! Stop, take a step back and don’t be impatient. Rather than telling him that you would love to work with him. Be aloof, and act normal. You don’t want to come off as a newbie who has never worked with a client and is desperate for one.
Ask him smart questions about his brand, learn more about his business. Ask him what problem he thinks he is solving with the work he is giving you. And then after understanding his needs, you tell him your price and say that you have enough information from him to get started to work on his project. And take it forward.
