It depends on the expertise and skills of the designer you are hiring but I will try to clear your doubts as much as possible.)
The cost of a logo design can be as cheap as ₹ 300 and it can go all the way up to ₹ 1,00,000+. Why this huge disparity you must be asking. There are all kinds of designers around you but I will tell what kind of designer and what price range would be best for your business. What matters is what specialization you are looking for in a designer. There are some online platforms which start from around ₹ 300 and the professional branding expert’s price can vary up to ₹ 70,000. If you have a really high budget like a lakh or more than a lakh rupees then you can also hire a branding agency.

I am going to make a few classes so to make it very clear under what budget what kind of result you can expect, and with that information, I am sure it will give you immense clarity and you would know what you are dealing with. This might not be accurate for almost every geographical region but it is going to be true for most of the regions in India, I have written this post according to my experience and what I have seen. 1. Below 5,000
Who would you be working with?
Mostly you would be working with the beginner designer or designer who doesn’t really have expertise in the brand identity design and logo design. What they know is how to put a font with clipart or a random icon, if you want something temporary you can go with it but I would advise you not to. because it is going to rip off a lot of value from your business which is going to result in a lot of money. It doesn’t make sense of saving little money by getting a bad logo design.
What results you can expect?
Under this budget, The logo is more likely to be pretty generic with a stock icon and fonts. You are more likely to get a usable logo. It won’t be a perfect fit for it but yeah you can have a logo just to get something to get started. The results out of this won’t be good at all, because the logo that will be designed will not be tailor-made for your business and brand. According to my experience, it will harm your brand more than doing any good to it.
2. 5,000-15,000
Who would you be working with?
You would be working with someone who has a little experience designing the logos and chances are high that he or she is not a beginner in the field of branding design. Do not expect great results. The designer that you are working with is not an expert and chances are that person has just got out of college or they are someone who has experience in the design field but not in branding design properly. I am not saying every designer in this class is not worth it sometimes a designer can be really talented, so keep your eyes open for the gems you might find out there
What results you can expect?
You can expect good results with your branding, it would look nice and chances are really high that the logo might not have a thought that can be incorporated into branding and strategy. You are more likely to get just the logo design. If you are a little tight on the budget then you can go with this budget because the logo from this category can be worked on. Chances are high that this logo won’t be ripping off any value out of your brand. What you can do is get this temporary logo done and get it fixed later when you can afford it in the future.
3. 15,000-30,000
Who would you be working with?
You would be working with a person who is working on brandings and logo designs and has a good experience working with brands and clients but they haven’t worked with big brands yet. He/She might a lot of branding knowledge, logo design principles and other information that is crucial for branding to stand well with business and to add value to it.
What results you can expect?
You can expect a very good branding with the person under this class along with some of the brand collaterals if not the whole brand stationery. The designer on this stage must have done branding for a lot of brands and businesses but they have not worked with big fortune brands which will be the next level in their careers. You can expect a good well thought out branding or logo design, which can stick with you for a long time with the business, it can be proved to be a valuable asset to the company which can have positive attention to the logo.
4. 30,000-70,000
Who would you be working with?
Under this class, you would be working with an expert brand designer and knows about brand strategies to work on along with the logo & branding. He has a good amount of working experience with renowned brands and businesses and has proved their name in their field of work. This would be best for your business if you can afford it.
What results you can expect?
You can expect a brand expert working as a freelancer, probably with a small team of designers and copywriters. You can expect a great branding with a well thought out process, and a detailed out brand guidelines for accurate brand consistency.
5. 1,00,000 +
Who would you be working with?
If you can afford this then you can have really great results by hiring a branding agency. by hiring a branding agency, you can have a team of designers working together to come up with a really interesting brand identity or a logo design for your business.
What result you can expect?
You can expect really good results because when a lot of minds are working on your logo, the chances of you getting an excellent logo or branding are very high. And the turn around time is also going to be very quick.
The brand identity is going to be great with well-detailed brand guidelines, which can be really helpful for consistent branding all over.
